Gintaras Beniusis claims EYBL U20 weekly honour

Talented Gintaras Beniusis (190-G-2004) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Palangos SC U20 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 19-year old guard had a double-double of 40 points and twenty rebounds, while his team beat Keila KK (#11, 4-4) 93-87. It allowed Palangos to consolidate first place in the EYBL U20. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 3 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Beniusis had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Palangos' top player in his first season with the team. Beniusis has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 17.8rpg. Beniusis is in league's top in and averages solid 66.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Dovydas Kacinskas (188-G-2005) of Rinkuskiu alus BirzuBirzai-KKSC. Kacinskas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 42 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Birzai lost that overtime game 91-97 to slightly higher-ranked London Drive (#2, 7-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Birzai still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Kacinskas is a newcomer at Birzai and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.1ppg (#2). He also registered 9.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Cristofer Lempu (200-F-2005) of Keila KK U20 team (#11). Lempu scored 22 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Lempu's great performance Keila KK lost 65-98 to the higher-ranked London Drive (#2, 7-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Keila KK needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Lempu has a very solid season. In 8 games in EYBL U20 he scored 7.9ppg. He also has 7.0rpg, 1.1bpg and FGP: 64.1%.
